With America’s elderly population expected to double over the next 40 years, many small businesses are catering to this rapidly expanding segment. TLC Companions & Supply staff are passionate about serving the various non-medical needs of this demographic and those who are disabled or in need. “Hiring TLC is the next best thing to having your own family present,” believe co-owners Greg and Robin Massimi. “We truly go the extra mile.”
TLC’s team of compassionate professionals is united in the belief that regardless of age or one’s physical or mental condition, everyone deserves to live in the environment they choose. With live-in 24/7 care as their specialty, the company’s experienced staff provides “exceptional care” and a “sense of security,” says Robin Massimi, Greg’s wife and co-owner. Among the variety of services offered by TLC is interaction and friendship, meal preparation, medication reminders, doctor visit transportation, light housekeeping, grocery shopping/errands, and professional services for elder care needs. All are offered hourly, daily or on a live-in basis. Complimentary initial in-home care assessments are available.
According to Greg, another element that makes TLC stand out is being available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. “We personally walk our aides into a new client setting, then follow up by checking in on each case to make sure it’s a good fit and that they are delivering the proper care,” he says. Robin handles the demanding task of coordinating clients with aides and she prides herself on making sure that a client is never left alone. “On several occasions,” says Greg, “She has gone to a client’s home until an aide arrives and the client is at ease.”
The Bethpage-based business also supplies Life Assist Medical Alarm Systems and Life Vac Emergency Care Systems. Personal care services are also available (hair/manicure/pedicure) as well as lawn maintenance, handyman and locksmith assistance.
